How to: Setup your BusinessMail account in Outlook 2007 using POP3

Note: This guide is applicable to our clients using our Business Mail product only - user's of our Standard Mail product should consult the Standard Mail setup guides instead.

This guide will walk you through the steps necessary to configure your Uniquemail Business Mail email account in Outlook 2007, using thePOP3  protocol. If you would like to configure your email account using the IMAP protocol instead, please refer to the IMAP guidance here. If you are unsure whether you should use IMAP or POP3, please refer to our how to choose between IMAP and POP3 guidance here.

Step 1: In Outlook 2007 click Tools then Account Settings…
 

Step 2: Click the New… button
 
 
Step 3: Select the Manually configure server settings or additional server types option then click Next
 

Step 4: Select the Internet E-mail option then click Next
 

Step 5: Enter your name, email address, password and server settings as shown, then click More Settings
 
Server Information
•    Account Type: POP3
•    Incoming mail server: pop3.uniquemail.com
•    Outgoing mail server: smtp.uniquemail.com
•    User Name: [your full email address]
•    Password: [as supplied during registration]

Step 6: Click the Outgoing Server tab, then select the My outgoing server requires authentication and Use same settings as my incoming server options
 

Step 7: Click the Advanced tab, enter the following settings then click OK
 
Server Port Numbers
•    Incoming server (POP3): 995
•    This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL): Yes
•    Outgoing server (SMTP): 366
•    Use the following type of encrypted connection: TLS

Step 8: Click the Test Account Settings… button
 

Step 9: Verify that your settings were successful and then click Close
 
Step 10: Click the Next button
 
Step 11: Click the Finish button
 

Congratulations! Your email account has been successfully configured in Outlook 2007
